Frequently Asked Questions
  • What is a Clinical Trial?

    • Clinical trials are part of clinical research and at the heart of all medical advances. Clinical trials look at new ways to prevent, detect, or treat diseases. Treatments might be new drugs or new combinations of drugs, new surgical procedures or devices, or new ways to use existing treatments. The goal of clinical trials is to determine if a new test or treatment works and is safe. Clinical trials can also look at other aspects of care, such as improving the quality of life for people with chronic illnesses.

  • What is the next step after I find a Clinical Trial?

    1. Contact our office or fill out our General Pre-Screen Form

    2. Our office will reach out to set up a Pre-Study consultation, during which you will be able to ask any questions you have.

    3. Talk to your doctor about your interest in joining a clinical trial. He or she may want to talk to the study team about your health to make sure the study is safe for you and to coordinate your care while you are in the study.

  • What happens if I join a trial and change my mind?

    • All Clinical Trial participation is completely voluntary. If at any point you decide the study is not a good fit for you, you have the right to withdraw without any penalty.
